Shea Butter

Shea Butter is an ideal beauty balm, used by women in Sub-saharan Africa to protect and nourish their skin and hair. Since the 1980's, L'OCCITANE has set up a sustainable and fair trade partnership with the women who produce it in Burkina Faso. Shea butter is used in high concentrations in our skin care, body care and hair care lines  to protect, nourish, soothe, comfort and regenerate the skin.  LEARN MORE >
THE TRUE STORY OF SHEA BUTTER!

In that distant land grows the sacred Shea tree - also called “Women’s Gold”, as only the local women are entrusted with the delicate process of creating its Shea Butter, and benefit from its trade. Through a long-standing partnership, L’OCCITANE buys Shea Butter at a fair price directly from three women’s cooperatives, thus assisting 14,000 women in building a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Men and women form different cultures, working on the same product with the same devotion, bringing people together through a special bond – the very basis of a lasting relationship. This is the essence of the wonderful Shea Butter story that has united L’Occitane with the women of Burkina Faso for so many years” - Olivier Baussan, founder of L’OCCITANE.

How to have beautiful hands

How to have beautiful hands

Our hands say so much about us, and we use them to say so much. So it's not surprising that they're one of the first things people notice. And while we all remember to take care of our face, the same can't be said of our hands… Yet the skin of our hands is fragile too, exposed to environmental aggressions every day: cold weather, cleaning products, UV rays, water, etc. What's the risk? They could become damaged and age prematurely. If you want to keep your hands looking beautiful all year round, follow our beauty guide!
